Third of an involved set of hearts.
I wonder sometimes why infirmity is so appealing to me. Why it’s what grabs my attention and my sympathy. Also why I am all too eager to reveal my own. Perfection is not something to be grasped, but rather we are made clean.
We are humans, and there’s no doubt about it. God, however, is not; He is an unrevealed jewel with three facets. The perfection of his mind and his soul are not to be grasped. It is He that I cling to and return to in my times of need and desire. The ones who are on the earth are us! The first humans were made in His image, and there was no sin found in them. But their choice brought upon them separation from that which is Perfect (we call this death, because without God, nothing was made that was made). The inheritance we have been handed through the long line of our fathers is spotted and tattered (Christ’s inheritance was that from his father). That is the distinction.
I suppose there is a bit of “take what you can get” here, because my desire throughout my life has always been variety. Black is black and nothing [more]; White is every bit of colored glass formed together to create a beautiful form, just enough of each color; we are the Greys. No two or three of us greys shine the same hue because we have been crafted to be who we are (and not someone else). That is the variety that I can find in every person on this earth.
Our failings and shortcomings and vices make us “us”, as far as is seen. But I am led to believe this is not our true identity; there is something laying in wait for us as soon as we take off our old ways! We will be filled with our Vie Vrai, our true life! (Our lives are as jars, and they desire to be filled.) Who we know will be gone and something new will be in its place. It is not easy to accept this change.
I have now learned that it is not wrong to love as He Loves (the lost will never know a greater joy). But we are to expect what is to come: the White robe that will shine every color exactly enough and will form-fit each of us humans. There is something to be desired from all of this depravity in the world after all. And something to be gained from knowing it (how else can we lead but to first know the way?)
